Since there was a lot of bolt exposed, I used a pair of 10" vice grips. However, the age thing again, I could not get enough clamping force to really dig into the bolt. All I did was basically remove the exposed threads of the bolt. Then, the wisdom part of age appeared and I decided to use a clamp on the vice grips to get a better bite on the bolt.
I thought this little tidbit may help other weaklings like me. The bolt did break loose, although a slow process, I held the bolt high over head and did the 928 victory dance.
