Barnes and Noble is in Bankruptcy. The Nook is the ONLY thing that is interesting investors.
OTOH, if you root the Nook, you can put the Kindle application on it. I don't know if you can root the Black and White Nook. The XDA development seems to only be on the Color Nook.
For readability in direct sunlight, you need a Kindle.
