The original 1974 Carrera's up to about #100 or so (I have tried to get the exact number of the car where this changed with no luck yet) had the butt welded RS flares. After these initial cars the factory started pressing the whole SC quarter panel which had a different edge on the flare and so these cars now had the same shape flare as the '78 and later SC.
