I run 10k per day when I'm home, and I had a woman in a Ford Expedition stop 10 feet from me when I stopped in front of her and folded my hands. She looked at me, and then slowly pulled forward and pushed me out of the way with her car! I'm serious- she looked at me, and slowly pushed her car into me!
I am not running the in the god-damn grass-
YES, I got her license plate. And I filed a police report- nothing happened. Typical-
-In Florida, you are required to give a pedestrian or a bicycler 3 feet [one meter] of clearance. A pedestrian is required to move against traffic, a bicycle is required to ride with traffic.
WHAT MOST PEOPLE DON'T KNOW is that the double-line in the middle of the street DOES NOT preclude you from crossing it for a pedestrian, a bicycle, a utility service vehicle, or an emergency vehicle, to include a police car, ambulance, or fire truck. You may ALWAYS cross a double yellow, if no other traffic is coming, to comply with this law. People think that if you are running against traffic and there is a double yellow...that they have to stop. They can do that, but they simply can go around if there is no oncoming traffic. THAT is the law!
I reported that stupid female dog. I think I posted a thread about that in August 2010.
