FIY, on my US-spec 968 that I imported to Norway, I wanted the foglights to work as automatic daytime lamps, since you are required to drive with daytime lights in Norway. The solution was very easy: The US-version has an empty relay position for Canada spec automatic daytime light. So the only thing I had to do was to install a relay, and bingo, everything works. The only issue was that the relay is very non-standard, very expensive, and probably NLA from Porsche. The fix was simply to modify a standard relay to the requires pinout and spec - I can give details if someone is interested.
