(I'm not a treehugger, I love my fuel consuming 911 a lot, but this statement sounds a bit.... well you know... dumb)
Volcanos typically emit about 10 million tons of CO2 into the atmosphere annually.
The burning of fossil fuels generates a great deal more than that which would be significant, IF CO2 was warming the planet which it is not. It's a byproduct of a natural warming cycle, not a causal effect.

But here's something interesting, volcanos also dump massive amounts of sulfur dioxide and other gasses into the atmosphere, which COOL the planet.

Much like pirates, volcanos have historically had significantly more effect on our climate than the burning of fossil fuels ever has.
Ponder this for a second, with the exception of oxygen, nearly ALL of our atmosphere came out of volcanos at one time or another. And yes I can back that up with references.
