We're not fussy down here...one finger or two in the 'salute'...either will do and no doubt will invoke the same response from the Sergeant lol!
Actually come to think of it; I think the two finger salute belongs to the older generation nowadays. Don't see many people using it - the younguns probably don't have clue what it means
