Somehow, I am not feeling so tough right now. I was going to rip into this like a madman on a mission ( which I did), replace the studs, and put it back together . but, I know better, and I am in the early stages of while you are in there itis.
I want to put this together once, and drive it for the next 10 years . Just like you, no real power mods planned, just some solid upgrades to improve reliability . I had to split the case, I had a large oil leak at #8 main, and now is the time . I will now sleep good at night knowing what is inside my crankcase.
Oh , and I did find this in my sump area, I guess that explains why I have two heads with a 1979 date code, and the rest are 1976.

Any guesses what it is?
