Thanks for the ebay link Bluemane, I noticed that a few listings popped up for the line recently. I was able to locate line last week from
carpartsdiscount, took the last one they had in stock. Too bad Pelican didn't have the FTE brand hose in stock, because they had the lowest price bar none.
I was able to remove the old hose fairly easily, tight fit but I could just squeeze my hand in from above and work a 12mm open wrench 1/4 turn each time on the master side. I didn't want to chance rounding off the edges on the upper fitting of the slave hardline, so I removed the hardline from the slave side and then wiggled the entire line assembly out.
Putting the replacement hose back in was a bear. Probably would've been able to do it if I had someone from the bottom holding the hose and adjusting the angle, and working it from above to get the thread started on the master side. Just not enough wiggle room to really get the fingers in there. I thought I was going to be able to install it without having to make an access hole through the fender well, but just not possible if working solo.
It was getting late and I was just going to mark the area inside the fender well when upon closer examination discovered someone had beat me to it. There was a 3/4 circular cut about 3" in diameter. I removed the undercoating that had been sprayed over it and bent the flap back. I was able to work the fitting into the master with ease.
I opened up the bleed and let fluid run. Did a preliminary bleed using a mighty vac handheld. Pedal would stick to the floor. I pumped the pedal a few times and noticed pressure building up. Ran about 10 ounces of fluid through the system using the handheld vac pump.
If I have any further issues with bleeding the clutch, I'll just run a hose from the left front caliper bleed to the clutch slave and use the brake master as a reverse power bleeder, works every time.
I'll post some pics up later.
