not all fans are the same. a ceiling fan can be moving more air, more gently. (than the Dyson)
OTOH, the big 15$ box fans have a horrible, turbulence inducing grate on the front and back. maybe annoying, but turbulent air is more 'mixing' and can aid in heat transfer (keeping you cool)
