I doubt it in hot conditions. After you turn the engine off, the fan isn't moving anymore and the engine temp rises quite a bit really fast. I questioned my dad about the practice of cooling down the engine (turbo) in his plane. I mentioned about the sudden rise after engine shutdown. It does spike. A lot of his engine is logged and can be reviewed on a computer later.
