In the black community, VERY OFTEN the term "Beyond the shadow of a doubt" is used instead of "reasonable doubt."
I don't understand where that term originates from, but it permeates the black community in Los Angeles County.
After the OJ verdict, it was interesting to talk to them about the evidence, particularly the blood all over the carpet in the Bronco. Without exception, the urban black's very unapologetic reply was that nobody saw him do it and that "they didn't prove it beyond a shadow of a doubt."
