I'm assuming that it is an FJ-40 (SWB), not an FJ-55 (LWB). I've owned an FJ-40 and an FJ-60, they are great old trucks. Like any Japanese truck from the 70's, they rust to an incredible degree. For that price (assuming you are in North America), expect to have some serious holes to deal with. The original drivetrains are bulletproof, if slow. A lot of people swap in small block Chevys and similar things, though I wouldn;t expect that at this price.. Look for the usual leaks on the underside. Everything on these trucks is super basic, and relatively easily fixed if something goes wrong. Solid axles front and rear with leaf springs. Some amount of suspension sagging, on one side or the other, is normal. A 73 should be a 1F I-6 with a 3 on-the-tree and have no power steering or A/C, drum brakes. If the drivetrain is stock, expect a top speed of around 50 mph, maybe 55 or 60 if you are going down-hill or have a good tail wind. They are really great trucks though, I miss still mine 10 years later.
