No helmet law here but as Rick correctly said, only a complete imbecile would ride without one. Personally I would never get on a motorcycle without a full-face helmet either (those stupid "beanies" that the faux-biker Harley crowd guys like to wear aren't worth a crap in a crash - check the DOT and SNELL sites). It's very easy to bust a chin, jaw, nose, etc. in a crash just as it is to have a cranial injury.

I especially like the idjuts who come up here from MA or NY (states that DO have helmet laws) and stop over the border and stick their helmets on the back seat and ride around like that "because they can". Jagoffs. You'll look real smart when you wreck and end up with a head injury with a perfectly good helmet sitting there on the seat behind you. Kind of like getting shot because your bulletproof vest was in the trunk or getting an STD because you were too lazy to reach over and grab a condom out of the nightstand.

I value what's in my head but I guess if someone else doesn't value what's in theirs, well... I just hope they die quickly and don't linger on publicly-funded life support as a vegetable for very long when they inevitably crash. If they have their own insurance/coverage and it doesn't cost me anything... do what you want.

No it shouldn't be legislated but I have a hard time respecting any person who doesn't respect themself enough take a very simple precaution.
