this accident was local here, on the news quite a bit. interesting to see it get picked up nationally.

i quite riding last year but have ridden in NY state for about 10 years and cant imagine even wanting to ride without a helmet. i have had everything from cheeseburgers to birds bounce off my helmet at highway speeds. Even riding with the face shield up is painful when stones or large insects hit your face going more than 10mph

after much contemplation and experience, i believe that riding a motorcycle on public roads with or without a helmet is the riskiest activity i could engage in 2nd only to playing russian roulette. Glad i got it out of my system
