I think it sounds like a Les Paul, my old instructor did as well. I have no idea how it ranks among the vintage though. The sound will change as well. The magnets in the pick ups weaken over time and are also influenced by there surroundings. The pups were wound in the traditional fashion to try and get close to the sound, so I have that going for me. I'm sure the tomes are brighter and sharper now and will mellow with age - like the real ones.
