How do you know its the pump? An 83 fuel pump is a 928 608 104 01. You are reading the Bosch number, someone else will have to tel you if that is the same part.
Are the relay, fuse and all the other circuits that are required to get it to run good? Do you have the wiring and fuse, relay diagrams?
