Are you working with hp storage? If so, I'm pretty surprised they're at 10GB, given how late to the game they are in terms of enterprise storage...

This is what I do for a living!
So, the 10G are for iSCSI, the 8G is for Fiber Channel. Both are used in a similar manner with slightly different use cases.
We actually have 16G FC now being certified in our labs. (I worked for EMC for a while, and then a small company called Compellent, which was recently acquired by a giant company called Dell.
Made me sad to see all of that HP storage......
