when I first moved to CA back in 1984 I was climbing a palm tree outside of the temporary housing and I guess I disturbed some yellow jackets - those buggers are FAST!

All I remember was hearing myself scream and falling from the tree onto the ground and then running like the road runner back to our room. I had 4 nice big welts in various places around my body.

It flipping hurt too.

A couple of weeks ago I was doing some yard work and there were a few standing puddles on this hot day. That attracted bees and wasps... Big wasps. I sprayed them with my hose and they eventually took off. They would come back a while later and get the same treatment. I'm surprised I didn't get stung.
