Talk to the people at Leatherique, one of them used to post here about his 928 I think, but they will give you the straight dope.
Murphy soap uses some kind of oil or wax, leather uses different stuff, usually glycerine in the cleaners. Saving $3 vs the right cleaner on seats that were like $4k when new doesn't sound like a good plan.
