Ok to answer some questions:
OJU gophers and groundhogs are different. Groundhogs are much bigger. The one I shot yesterday was around 10-12 lbs. No pics. It was ugly, kinda dissected him, I don't like posting graphic stuff like that.

The scope is a BSA sweet .223. 6-18 X 40 designed for the .223 round and has 3 turret drums in various bullet weights designed to compensate for bullet trajectory from 100 to 400 yrds. The scope I removed was a 4-12x40 Nikon that I was less than thrilled with. I have trouble with fixed objective lens scopes as I shoot with my glasses on and I have a progressive lens. The BSA has an adjustable objective lens that allows me to focus better and also acts as a range finder so you can adjust the elevation turret to get the correct trajectory. It sits on a pair of medium high weaver style steel mounts. Be warned this scope is a long sucker, it's about half the length of my barrel but seems pretty stable.

I used my lead sled from the roof of my van. Hey I was in the field. No shooting benches out there.
I didn't tape the quarter to the target. I had a friend throw it in the air.........just kidding, just kidding. I used two layers of that clear tape they use for packing, taped to a target, taped to a cardboard box out in the field at a measured distance. It held for all but that last shot on the edge and that only loosened it. Illegal? I dunno ...arrest me. Don't they have better things to do?

I'll post pics of the whole system later after I take some.

Art, yes I have shot a bunch of the rounds you sent me, but some rounds don't allow me to close the bolt. I suspect these are reloads fired in your gun that has a different shoulder on the chamber, so they are fire formed to your gun not mine. They work, but it takes a lot of pressure on the bolt to close it. They are range only as they are FMJ and and it's illegal here to hunt wit FMJ.
