seahawk when its damn cold out, i basically rip all the pouches off, and wear the vest under either my bdu jacket or my usgi goretex. when those conditions exist especially on a quad, i leave my holster attached and it stays dry and mud free.

generally EVERYTHING ELSE is covered in mud.

opticsplanet.com was the cheapest i found on damn near every oddball pouch i needed as well as the vest.

as i stated i gave my omega vest to my younger son. hes a wrong handed kind of guy. actually hes ambi-dextrious so he can still use the right hand cross draw.

the cross draw also holds a 4" smith .357. i havent tried my 4" smith .44 yet so i dont know.

9mm and .45 for bad peoples

.357 and .44 mag fer bad kritters.

the military bianchi holsters are molle compatible. i have their UM revolver nylon holster that fits my smith 4" .357 and my smith m-29 4" .44 mag.

if ya note the vest picture, i mounted the camelpak in its lil vest pouch, and have (2) new style canteen holders. whats unique about the new canteen holders is they double as anysize mag holders. you can cram a poo full of mags in them also.

so as ya can see if yer trekking the sahara, you could haul alot of water on the vest.

if on a quad you could also utilize a molle buttpouch attached to vest. if in a vehicle you would have to remove buttpack, same if ya externally mounted the camelpak.

its a mix and match mission specific gig here. and it really does keep yer crap organized.

i went with ACU camo over marpat due to costs. the USMC developed marpat camo and get a nice lil royalty for their efforts. ACU camo works just fine in the dez or the forests to break up yer outline.
