We all have our favorites based on personal experience or from reading magazines. Being a Porsche forum I suppose many of us regard models like the GT3 and RS iterations as some of the best drivers cars period. Problem is you pretty much need a track to take full advantage of such cars. I gather most of us spend most of our mileage on common roads at speeds around 30-50 mph. With a GT3 that is just frustrating.

What cars are really rewarding, fun drivers cars at legal speeds? I suppose a lot of people will cry Miata and some a Boxster. We have a very large area with country roads were I live, many of which 50 mph is an upper limit with responsible driving. I find that even with my plain jane 3.2 Carrera its rather frustrating not to be able to really explore its limits. I actually remember having more fun in my old 924 from 1976 probably lacking more than a few of its original 125 ponies. It was good fun however, great balance and pedal to the metal almost all of the time.
