A friend of mine has an '04 986, and the clutch went at less than 50k miles with no prior warning. These things happen. The clutch on my '97 SAAB 900 turbo went at around 75k. Car pulled hard with no problems up until that point. And then *bam* pedal to the floor and no forward thrust vectoring. Luckily, the Boxster's clutch seems to be easier to get at than a front-wheel-driven SAAB (clutch job was a PITA and I've done it twice, now with 200k mi on the clock).
