I know the feeling. I just make sure to be excessively nice to people on the road. It's funny to see the looks on their faces. Also, I avoid getting entangled in situations which are started by a phenomenon known as the "ricer flyby."
Ditto on the price; my 986 ran me less than a used Corolla. I was asked if I paid any less than 80 grand for the car, so that goes to show how misunderstood Porsches are. They're like any other car; it's just a matter of loving it enough to give up trunk space or the passenger capacity of a four-door for the pure bliss of open-top flat six music.
