Shift Coupler
Hey out there, I would like to know it anyone has ever driven the pin from between the bushings from the rear coupler without breaking it. Mine had some slop so I bought new plastic bushings instead of forking over $60 for a rebuilt. Then the fun started. No luck with hammer and punch in vise so I heated the unit in the oven at 500. No luck. Part had a stamp from 79. Car is a 66. Once the alum was destroyed I was able to finally drive the pin out. Now I'll have to pay the core charge and buy a rebuilt. I didn't buy the porsche rebuild because it had almost as much slop as my used one did. Oh well. Should be ready to go for a C-note. Later DG
