Probably oil in the heat exchangers from sitting so long. If you take them off you risk breaking a head stud. You might just run it until you burn the oil out.

Did you remove the the air filter and check for oil in the intake? If not do so and if you find oil then you are probably overfilled with oil.

Fuel smell is probably a fouled plug(s) not firing.
