I would not be attempting to set up wireless devices in an environment/network that I don't control. It's just asking for a headache.

Is this a public school? They very well may have strict policies about what types of devices you can run. From a security standpoint wireless devices that expose their network, even in a benign way, are generally frowned upon.

I'd go USB.
