True.
I bought a wrecked 944 at an auction, and put the engine in my 944 race car. I ran it for a few years before giving it a proper rebuild.
I figured the car must have been driving under its own power to be on the road to get in the accident, so the engine must still be good.
A gamble for sure, but one that came out great. I'm not afraid of used engines.
Put a new timing belt on and stick it in.
