Here is what you should do: Take good pictures and put it on eBay with a ridiculous reserve, more than you think you can possibly get for it. Maybe $75k or more. Do not disclose the reserve to anyone, including on this thread or another here. You will get countless emails from bidders asking what your reserve is. Respond to (1) of them and post the question and answer on the listing: "I will not disclose the reserve out of fairness to all bidders. Bid what you are willing to pay". If it was me, I'd make the reserve $1M to fk with guy who will bid $80k just to find out the reserve and then cancel his bid. But that's just me.

The car will get worldwide exposure to everyone, and I mean everyone who is even remotely a buyer for it. It will get coverage on various BBSs where people track 356s and vintage cars in general. The threads will all be titled, "Pre-A cab on eBay". For $100, (or whatever an eBay car listing costs these days), you will get about a million dollars worth of advertising and get countless offers from legit buyers. You will in effect have *an auction within an auction*, that is to say that you do not really want to sell it on eBay. An eBay "winner" has at least a 50/50 chance of flaking or not performing, then you have to re-list it and now everyone thinks that it's tainted merchandise and the (real) bids get lower.

The way that you want to sell it is face-to-face for cash to a legit buyer who has either inspected it in person or had their agent inspect it in person. EBay is by far and away the best forum for advertising a car such as this but not the best place to sell it always, IMO. Believe me, I've thought these situations through thoroughly. Good luck!
