Well...
I got $1500 for an '86 N/A with an impeccable service history, a new cylinder head, belts, rollers and H2O pump, tires with less than 100 miles on them, a perfect interior (that admittedly reeked of smoke) and a badly soot damaged and slightly singed exterior. I had it insured for $7500; there was no way to give it an OE quality paint job and make the interior un-smelly for that figure. Hence, they totalled it.
It was a dream buy for a 22 year old kid who had an '88 N/A automatic with a leaky H2O pump.
