The "New Rich Chinese" would buy a USA made Harley if it was available to them.

They love German or Canadian made Leica lenses and cameras. Second hand or new. It doesn't seem to bother them.
Why not Harley's?

With the right management Harley could do just about anything it wanted.

Starrett tools has also done very well in China. They make fantastic metrology tools in factories all over the world and they are very highly regarded.
