Nice of you to be so affected by their ordeal. Although a happy marriage is what one should hope for, I don't think I'd be bothered with it as much as you.

That's where it would end for me. People split up all the time.
Does that make me a bad person or insensitive, I dunno. This doesn't rank very high on the list of major life issues, IMO.
I think all you can do is be there for them when they need you.
