Both the electric head rests have failed on my '95 540. I pulled the back off the passenger side seat and pulled out the "gearbox". I noticed that if I compressed the cable between the gearbox and the motor it would work fine. Is there an adjustment for these things, or is there a characteristic failure mode for these that is easily fixed? Are the three components, gearbox, drive cable, and motor available separately?
