Just did the same with a extra set of front end parts I have and took them to Redi-Strip. Struts, "A" arms, and two fenders soaked for a couple of days and came out like new, bare metal.
Will be powder coating them shortly... and it will last the life of the car. If you are not going to powder coat, then paint them and bake them in the oven to get it hard.
