Not sure if you got an answer, but the green wire is actually a coax wire with both wires (core and shield) providing a signal to the ignition system.
I do not remember the details of my install with an Accel system, but I remember having to connect two wires from the aftermarket ignition unit to the two wires from the green coaxial wire starting at the distributor.
