Chain link is not allowed per HOA - the orginal fence was a POS with wood posts. The town and HOA now requires that all fences being put up (as of Jan 1, 2011) have to have galvanized posts, cemented in at a minimum of 3 feet down. The minimum height is 6ft but some HOAs allow up to 8ft. We went board-on-board, prestained with a kickboard at the base. If there is any rot, the boards can easily be replaced. I'm hoping that the fence will last 10 to 15 yrs.
