Yep. 15 year Navy man. Sadly, I have nothing to do with the great gas mileage conspiracy. That's a different department.
Sometimes when I try to find my 911 in a parking lot, and can't, or park it next to a modern "subcompact," or when in traffic looking under the Ford Expedition in front of me... the size difference really hits me  . (hopefully his bumper, about eye level on me in the 911, won't also hit me)
A small car from 1969 is microscopic next to today's subcompact! You want to really see the difference, compare a '70s Honda cvcc to today's civic: it's unreal.
