1981 SC that I can't decide on
Usually I have a pretty good idea of what to pay for what. This I don't. 81 SC, original owner, California no rust ever car. Dark blue, blue and black interior, I don't really like blue interiors but this works. The front seats have been redone lighter than they should have been, it's got covers that are the right color. The rest of the interior is okay, a few wear spots, the glovebox door is shot for some reason, the dash has a cover on it, underneath a few cracks but not bad.
One respray, and it's a ten footer. Whoever did it didn't know how to paint very well. It wasn't wrecked, it lived inside during the night, outside daytime, and it faded. There are a couple of dents, the owner thinks it got hit with planter boxes, it's in a condo garage under a cover, she took the cover off and found the dents, there was a landscaping truck next to it. Not a huge deal but there.
It has sevens and eights with new tires, the original wheels.........they found the car on jackstands one day.
The hard part. It has 310K on it. At 297K, she had everything done. Full motor, good shop, new everything in the motor, along with gearbox, clutch, shocks, brakes. That's the only receipt I've seen, she may have more. It was $10K, in 1999, she's gone 13K miles since then. Everything works, air and all. The gearbox is the best 915 I've ever felt. And Tyson Schmidt did mine:-)
The impressive part is the owner is an 80 year old lady, she really likes driving it, but she lives in Mexico most of the time, and doesn't want to take it there. She brought it to my house, and she had her 50+ year old son with her, she was driving. Very cool.
Any ideas on what it's worth from that?
