The guy spent his entire career or most of it working for the local school district.

Do you think he went into it 40 years ago thinking " I'm gonna bank !"

Give me a break. I would be willing to bet that when he finally kickes the bucket his total income earned is less than if he would have joined the private sector. We should probably thank him for his service.

I know a number of young school teachers working their way through the system and none are rolling in the dough.
