I got to drive a 98 Boxster 2.5 5 SPD MT when I was 16 years old. From that moment, I knew that my first car had to be a Porsche. I saved up from 3 jobs for 5 years and as soon as I turned 21, I had made enough money to buy a Porsche. I started looking for a Boxster. I found a 2000 Boxster 2.7L 5SPD MT for $9700 with 76,000 miles. A little over my budget, but I bought it. During First car Inspection, mechanic said he can hear the water pump going bad so I replaced that. 9 months and 6000 miles later, I had no problems until recently. Now I have a vacuum leak and broken inner tie rod. Hopefully, both will be fixed by this weekend. It is a great car. I have never had so much fun driving a car. And I also had the chance to drive 350z, RX-8, Corvette C4, C5, C6, NSX, and even the SL55 AMG. I still found the Boxster more fun to drive.
I am keeping this car for as long as I live. Even when my Boxster dies, I will just replace the engine and continue driving it and use the old engine block as a base for a coffee table.
