Very cool, but still won't prevent idiots from not paying attention to the stuff they illuminate.
Seems to me the biggest failure in the information transfer chain (day or night) isn't necessarily the initial detection of hazards, it's the 2' gap between the seat and steering wheel where no information processing occurs.
