I have an 11 yo and a 14 yo.
Yeah, sounds like the whole saga sucks.
The upside is that your kid will have to deal with life being unfair sooner or later so take it as a lesson for her. It may hurt her (and you), but she has an opportunity to learn how to bounce back.
Kids that never experience disappointment / failure / injustice struggle all the more when they finally do have to deal with it, as they all will eventually.
Having said that, if you get a chance to point out to the parent who fired your kid that she's a dick, go for it.
