mine too,
My 78 SC has the surging idle, only when cold, right after start-up, and only for a few minutes. When warm, it idles just fine. When I remove the oil cap, the idle rpms go down some, but not too much because the engine keeps running as it should.
After reading Tony's comment, does this confirm that I don't have unmetered air leaks? I'm thinking again about leaning the idle mixture....
