With AAA Plus you can get towing up to 100 miles. Here's the kicker with AAA - they will ask you if the car is currently registered. The only answer they will accept is "yes" (hint, hint) or you will need to do all the dmv on the car and have a temporary sticker issued.
In any case I've never seen a tow truck driver that gave a **** about the car's registration.
BTW, IMO every 914 owner should have AAA plus.
