If your canvas in good condition and you want to reuse it, you can remove the entire top with frame and a good top specialist with Boxster top experience can sew in a new plastic window. This will be the most economical as the labor cost to remove the entire top mechanism is far less than R/R-ing the canvas from the frame.

There are several options or techniques for the actual sewing or seam work. Some installers will try to match the location of factory stitching while others will sew a new seam next to the factory stitching. There are also options on the thickness and color of the replacement plastic window panel, green tinted to match OEM, "crystal" clear or tinted.

Fortunately, I haven't needed to have this work done yet, so I have no first hand experience, but have followed several related threads on the subject as I know my top is on borrowed time.

Good luck, let us know it works out.
