If you indeed have a 82 SC distributor then you can run it @ 8 deg btdc @ idle. You can try 10 deg which will get you 30deg @ 3000 rpm which is about all you can take at that rpm. It's not ideal but can get you by for a while.
I can recurve/rebuild your dizzy to any spec you require as well as remove the vac advance.
