I second going to Autopia.org and Autogeek.net.
There are so many products for so many applications and everyone has their favorites. They are fun to experiment with. You can buy wax from $3.99 at Wal-mart to $1500 for a small pot of pure carnuba. They will both make your car shinney. Experiment and see what type of finish you like on the car.
If you want great results - buy a D/A buffer - clay bar - a glaze (I like Pinnacle XMT) - and a good wax and go to town. You will be amazed at the results - especially on black. It will probably take you 4-5 hours or more to do a 997 right the first time. The results will be worth it though.
