It moves the contact patch out a little bit, puts different stresses on the sidewall [makes the tire do more of a \_/ shape on the wheel instead of (_) ], and most importantly the Porsche engineers say that's what belongs on there.
I've got a staggered set of wheels with 225's on all 4 cornes... I'd stick with the 215's. they're becoming a pain to find!
