Garage
RISA - it sounds like you have a air intake leak. I had the same problem. After taking the car for a little spin around the neighborhood, I put it in the garage. The next time I tried to start it --- no start. It took a lot of time and help from folks here on Pelican to direct me to the source of the problem. The throttle body rubber coupling had worked loose from the air distributor which caused a massive air leak (which caused the dam to remain pretty much closed). Once I found the problem and corrected it ran fine. However, after a year or so, and after doing the TB / WP change out, the engine would start, but was very hard to keep running. A lot of foot modulation on the accelerator was the only way to keep it running until it got warm. After it warmed up it ran fine. I found that one of the intake sleeves between the intake tube and the intake distributor was cracked. I replaced all of the sleeve, and the beast starts and runs bodaciously!
